All About Lexi

We got Lexi when she was 18 months old. Her owner's son developed severe allergies to Lexi and they were so sad to have to give her up. We went to pick her up from the airport and when she came out of her crate I had to laugh! Lexi was... shall we say, a little (really a LOT) overweight! Her previous owners had loved her a lot and she got all kinds of good stuff to eat. So, we had to put her on a diet. I worried at first that she thought she was on some weird episode of the "Biggest (dog) Loser", but before we knew it, she was fit and trim!

Lexi was the social butterfly of the group. She never met a person she didn't love. She thought all of our visitors were there JUST to see and love on her! They really don't get any sweeter than Lexi Lou!

Lexi also LOVED to lure course. She was our first dog to obtain a title in coursing and we were so proud of her! She loved it so much that she nearly dislocated my arm when I didn't take heed to the "Hold your hounds" call one day. I was on my rump in a second! She was also amazing at climbing a chain link fence. She never went anywhere! Just climbed from the back yard into the front yard to be with us. It was NOT a graceful thing to see but amazing that she was able to do it and that our other clowns didn't learn how from watching her!

We have hundreds of wonderful memories of Lexi and keep in touch with her puppies families so she will live on through them. We will always miss our Lexi Lou Lou and her sweet, loving way. Have fun chasing the bunnies and hogging the couches over the rainbow bridge!

Updates

Lexi earned her second leg of her JC at Blazing Jack kennels in Yalaha, FL. We were so proud of our girl. More lure coursing to come for this passionate courser for sure! She just LOVES it!

September 16 & 17, 2006

Lexi went to her first lure coursing trial! She's never even been to practice before! I had a feeling she'd know just what to do and I was right! When that "bunny" came by, Lexi was all over it. When it came her turn to run Lexi took off like a bullet and got her first leg of her JC title. On day 2, we tried again, but I think Lexi was a little sore from the first day and didn't run the whole course. Don't worry, we know this girl is just like her daddy... a coursing fool! She'll get another chance real soon. Check out the pictures on Lexi's pics page.
